A Clean, Well-Lighted Place is written by Ernest Hemingway about an old man who trys to commit suicide and drinks alot at the cafe everyday. The old man comes to the cafe to drink to waste his life away from the despair he has from the past. The waiters get frustrated with the old man because he comes into the cafe and drinks all the time until two or three in the morning and then leaves without paying for what he as drank.
